Summary: Impractical Analog Joystick Behaviour

Initial Comment:
The Joystick plugin provided treats the analog stick as
an On/Off property only - either not scrolling at all,
or scrolling past way too fast.

Ideally, the Analog Joystick should:
*Scroll once, then pause (ala keyboard "repeat")
then
*Scroll continuously at a rate reflected by the
positioning of the stick

I've added the latter part to my own copy of joy.py
(and have submitted it to the Freevo developers twice
already - with no feedback either positive or negative
concerning it).

IMHO, joy.py needs the guts rewritten to better handle
timed events for slow scrolling, clearing of scroll
events (rather than queueing), etc... My mod is just an
enhancement of the existing framework. IMHO, it's still
a big improvement functionality-wise over the default
plugin. (And I'll attach it here again if you do wish
to use it).

Sorry that you got no feedback. Please send the patch (to
cvs) again and I will add it to cvs. Sometimes I hope others
take a look at the patch and forget it. I have no joystick,
so I can't test.
