I see you're using Outlook Express, so I can't personally help you with
that.  All I can suggest is that you consult its online help.

I would certainly strongly recommend you use Thunderbird instead.  You
can download a Thunderbird extension called Enigmail and use that for
validating keys.

Theoretically this is possible.  You could probably write a script that
inspects all of Freevo's source to determine what modules it imports,
then do the same within /usr/lib/python* and narrow down a list of
modules that are needed.

I predict you wouldn't save very much.  Maybe 20MB, but it's hard to be
sure.  But this has a whole list of negative consequences.  However much
you save, I'm not sure that it would be worth it.  Even for an embedded
distro, memory usage is usually more important than disk space usage.
What are your disk constraints?
