Please note that this message will contain a full copy of the comment thread, including the initial issue submission, for this request, not just the latest update. Category: Media Integration Group: Next Release (example) Status: Open Priority: 5 Submitted By: Lars Steinke (lss74) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: Music playback across directories Initial Comment: When using Freevo as a MP3 jukebox I found the functionality to have some room for improvement. While Freevo does start playback on inserting a MP3 DVD there is no way of navigating across folders while playing - it will always start with the first song in the first folder only allowing to skip forward song by song (which is not very feasible for DVD media with a lot of content). There would be the following approaches to alleviate that: 1. Allow direct numeric access to songs, eg. playing the 159th song on the selected media by typing "1, 5, 9". 2. Provide a key for "next directory". 3. Let "PgDown" skip 10 or 25 songs, for example. Also starting playback in a certain directory and then following up with the next would be a desirable behaviour for a music jukebox. A last thing that I found noteworthy, is that MP3 media start playback right away while an audio CD just displays the track list. Starting playback with track 1 on insertion of CDDA media like for MP3 media would be rather nice as well. Thanks for the amazing work on Freevo! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=446898&aid=1395170&group_id=46652 ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Splunk Inc.
