There are quite some Winamp-plugins around, as I realized recently, when playing with my new OpenGL-card. Some of them are really cool, unfortunately I guess that i.e. controlling the window size is impossible with most of them (did not have a look at the plugin API, but it seems to be sth. like start() -> "open your window please" and stop() -> "shutdown please" and every plugin has a different kind of window/fullscreen mode. :-( Would be nice to keep this in mind for future evaluation though.
