This will cause arguments until a reason for either which is valid and
reasonable in such as it overrides any disadvantages one way or another.

looks good ;)

I thought this was implied anyway by previous posts, coding animations
into XML is a nightmare, I've never seen anything that does it.

Lets be honest, MythTV is crap! I've tried it out, and all it did was
irritate me in so much as I had to go through a massively
overcomplicated setup process and it is system heavy, the themes look
like irish hangover vomit, it is incredibly rigid in its layout and
setting up LIRC makes you want to pull your fingernails out, and of
course once you've got it working it is slow and unresponsive.

I think the developers are on crack, because they insist on using
irxevent instead of doing something far simpler like using the lirc
library to access ir events.

as far as it goes, I chose freevo because it suits my needs perfectly,
it works for a start, when something goes wrong its pretty easy to fix,
it doesn't require something as huge as kdelibs and qt, mysql etc...

The most important thing that keeps me in the freevo camp is the
brilliant way in which we at least come up with ideas and never discount
anything, in that sense embracing the open source ideal.

the only thing myth has over freevo is the picture in picture and
tv-timeshifting pause/play stuff.

We will get those soon enough and the future is upward for freevo, not
static and stagnant.

anyway, /rant i digress too much ;)

k,
