It seems this problem has something to do with the following part of
the trimmed output.

When watching TV with tvtime (because mplayer is broken and I can't
seem to get it fixed) freevo crashes in the background dumping out
the following output. It happens after a few minutes of running tvtime
TVTIME 1 KEY EVENT: "['\x00']"
tvtime cmd "" not found!
TVTIME 1 KEY EVENT: "['\x00']"
tvtime cmd "" not found!

When I vi the stdout child app debug file I find a ^@ character is
being output by tvtime, I'm unsure what this is but for the time
being I've hacked the command executed by tvtime to redirect stdout
to /dev/null, this is a dirty fix. Does anyone know what this strange
character is? Why it is produced by tvtime and what freevo is
supposed to do with it? (Ignore it I'd assume)
