kaa.display is needed. The module not only holds X11Display, it also
contains FBDisplay and DFBDisplay.

Any hints, anything I missed?

The problem is that tack and I both have X11 installed, so we don't
have that error. Someone need to create a patch for kaa.display to
work without X11 and just not building the x11 so file.
P.S. If there's a way I could see this working, I guess I'll notice in
kaa.xine the same juddering issues with non-720x576 DVB PAL content I
had with df_xine and now with fbxine, but now I know that there must be
a way to fix this in xine-lib. I succeeded once with fixing it in
df_xine, but with an older version than the current one...

kaa.xine is in an early stage. It works with X11, that's what Tack
used when hacking it. I only did a small hack to make FB
working. Someone needs to improve the DFB support.

Ok, I'd like to try to do that. I could hardcode some
display.config('#define THERE_IS_NO_X11')
in kaa/display/setup.py and use it all over to avoid building against X11, and do the same in kaa.xine, but I wanted to do it properly. Only I couldn't find a way, as I'm not a python programmer. I tried to see how other libraries like imlib2, directfb are detected in kaa, but I couldn't use that for X11. Please help me with this one, then I think I'll be able to provide a patch for the rest, and I also think it would be benefic for Freevo2 if someone can always check if it builds and is usable even without X. I'm meaning the early stage kaa.xine part :-)
