Hi, for those who play with svn: it should work again, beacon is integrated. To test it, follow the follwing steps:
1. ~/.freevo/vfs is not needed anymore
2. Remove the installed freevo and call 'python setup.py clean' after
svn update
3. Start beacon before Freevo. You don't have to do that, freevo will
start it if needed, but it is better that way.
4. You should enable inotify in your kernel (>= 2.6.13)
Notes:
1. Rom drives are only visible when a disc is in the drive
2. To see usb massive storage devices (e.g. usb sticks) you need dbus
and python dbus bindings, dbus and hal daemon running. You also
need pmount_hal.
3. On the first freevo start, beacon will crawl through all media
files to update the db.
4. Playlists and slideshows based on fxd files don't work yet
