Yes, the VIA EPIA reference in the plugin only applies to the "xxmc" vo device of xine. This device uses the MPEG2 acceleration of the CLE266 chipset that's found on VIA EPIA motherboards. Xine and X/Openchrome have to be configured properly to have MPEG2 accelleration, but most VIA EPIA users know about this since it has been an issue about which is talked a lot on the VIA EPIA forums.
