I found the problem: im my local_conf.py XINE_COMMAND was commented out, I uncommented it and it worked fine.

The real problem is in the code: line 108 in src/video/plugins/xine.py refers to config.XINE_COMMAND, why not use the CONF.xine command? Although it doesn't seem to be visable. Maybe this really doesn't matter? We could assume that the user should define XINE_COMMAND?

/usr/local/bin/xine -v
This is xine (X11 gui) - a free video player v0.99.4.

Where does the xine parameter in freevo.conf (in /etc/freevo/ or ~/.freevo/)
point to?
