Summary: localization of time - data and month name
Initial Comment:
I'd like to have localized display of date and time,
there is several places where standard 'western'
date/time format is used.
I tried myself to change few files (see patch) for
locales import (I use LANG=cs_CZ.UTF8 locale) to be
able to change date in idlebar plugin and in tv
recording forecast, but as I have no python knowledge
I get to problems early.
When I import locale in config.py , then the
idlebar.clock start work as I want, great, but the
recording forecast for Tomorrow and This Week stops
working as it is not probably able to alive with
different datetime format.
There will be probably plenty of code which depends
on 'standard' datetime format.
So questions is how to display according to locale,
but keep logic as is?

Sorry I don't quite understand what you mean about LC_TIME
Did changing the variables work as you desired?

Hello, I chaged it to variables which alredy exists as you recomend -
TV_TIMEFORMAT and TV_DATEFORMAT. For me is still the question if the way I
used to import LC_TIME is the good or not.

I think that you want to use TV_TIMEFORMAT, see local_conf.py.example
This changes the time format in the tv guide.

I use LOCALE='utf-8'.
I tested the display of recording forecast a bit further and it works - I
forgot that I have to enter EPG screen to get it updated, not to come to
main manu and back to tv menu...
Could it be possible to make more variables for this date/time vars? Or at
least reformat current hard wired format to more sensible?
example:
TV_DATEFORMAT = '%a %e.' It gives me short name of date and number of day
- it.s enough for EPG (left upper corner), but for Today and Tomorrow I
want to have time (start time only?) ie. %H:%M%p
and for ThisWeek date and time ie. +%A %H:%M%p
Last but not least is my try to change 'at' to string which could be
localized.
Yes there is more places with that, maybe better to place it to _('') so
it could be translated to language common format?

The recording time format is in seconds nothing to do with
the display of the date and time.
Have you LOCALE='latin2' or LOCALE='iso-8859-2' in your
local_conf.py?
But there could be other places where a time format
hardcoded, but these can be fixed.
