Summary: can't see multiple favorites with the same name

Initial Comment:
I want to record a show whenever it is broadcast in two different time slots,
but not at other times. I therefore need to create two different favorites at
the two different time slots. Freevo lets me do this without any complaint,
but when I go to view my favorites, I can only see one of them. This is true
in both the UI and the Web interface. I think both of the favorites actually
work, even though I can see only one of them in the UI.

I agree that the implementation favourite handling of freevo could be
better, there are certainly a few design failures. But having said that it
is *not* a bug as the program does what it has been designed to do, even if
it could be better.

This is really a question, how do I do so and so and as such it should be
asked on the users list before considering it a bug :)

There is a trick to entering names using a remote, they follow the logic
of a mobile phone. '2' cycles through "abc2", '3' through "def3", etc. Left
and right arrows move the cursor left and right and up and down arrows
cycle through the characters.

I have no intention to change the behaviour, you will have to wait for
freevo2 ;)

>From my experience this is really a problem,
because in these cases only the second favorite is recorded.
The first favorite seems to be lost, when another one with the same name
is created.

This is definately true for 1.5.4, I did not check it for 1.6.

A workaround for this problem is to give the second favorite a different
name,
but it took me some time and missed recordings to realize that.
Thus I agree with jikamens, freevo should not allow the user to enter a
second favorite
with the same name. It should at least give a warning!

Just my opinion
Tanja

I disagree that this is a feature request. An application should not
allow you to create a datum which is then invisible within the application.
 That's clearly a bug.

More of a feature request than a bug report. :)

Questions are better on the freevo-users list.

Then it should automatically create them with two different names. The
application shouldn't allow me to create Favorites entries which hide other
Favorites entries.

You need to give them two different names, like house1 and house2
