If you'd like to apply as a student, then register to google at http://groups.google.com/group/google-summer-of-code-announce/web/guide-to-the-gsoc-web-app-for-student-applicants The "Inclusion of Xorg server" project has already been taken by another student, and I don't think you can be 2 to work on a project (correct me if i'm wrong). But we'll be happy that you work on the HDD installation process rework.
