Some random URLs: Microsoft seems to use dvd.xml files. Some notes can be found at http://www.dvdxml.com and in the forum of that page. The DVD id is a CRC64 but I don't know from what data. Not DVD related but a maybe nice source for metadata could be http://thetvdb.com They seem to use tv.com data which could be a copyright problem ... but maybe not for us and only for them. The same for movies is http://www.movie-xml.com and the interface API is http://www.movie-xml.com/?tab=interface The windows media center I was talking about in my previous mail is Media Portal http://www.team-mediaportal.com/ They have a plugin for DVD detection, maybe take a look at it. A german DVD database is http://www.dvd-datenbank.com and you can search based on the EAN (similar to UPC). That could speed up addeding data. Instead of typing a title with the remote you can type in the EAN or use a barcode scanner. And last but not least, maybe we could ask invelos about terms to access the DVD Profiler database. Maybe a registered user can access the database.
