It's rare that freevo freezes, I've made this happen with a thread 
calling OSD methods.

Try stopping the recordserver and any other servers.

Try stripping down you local_config to the bare bones and if this then 
works add bits back until it stops working.

Entering the TV guide works fine for me on both systems.
