Obviously IANAFD (I am not a Freevo developer), but IMHO the KISS rule should apply - this behaviour seems a bit non-trivial for a simple property value change. If you need a timer with a different interval, explicitly create one (for the usual reasons... readability etc)
This is just on instinct from reading this post though, I haven't looked at the Kaa code recently - maybe the suggestion fits :)
