It's a bit odd that SD is so poor quality as it has the same resolution as a DVD and DVDs look fine. What is interesting is that some of the older children's programmes that were recorded with the PVR-350 and then converted to xvid look fine. Think a little experiment is in order to see if this is still true. We laid out our cash on a Philips Cineos 47PFL9703D, LCD TV. One of the interesting features is the DLNA connection, but not tried this out yet. Pretty sure that the problem is related to the dirty power, switching on or off the lights in the kitchen causes an audio drop. In the Christmas stocking came a new DVD player that has the same problem of audio drop outs. Of course it is a guess that the lights in other apartments are the cause are a problem, could be the fridge.
