I'm not quite as motivated as dischi to drop Xine support, because it's
still the only capable DVD player for Linux out there.

What I do want to drop is the custom overlay and shared memory frame
export code from kaa.xine, and use clutter and
GLX_EXT_texture_from_pixmap for those things instead.

So I do agree with dischi that only vdpau and xv outputs will be
supported, and if you have a capable video card, those outputs can be
properly integrated into the UI via clutter.  And if you don't, you'll
get a pretty plain experience with Xv (no OSD, no fancy transitions or
anything).

If you have an Nvidia card that can do vdpau, you should have a good
experience.
