Hi,

As thrilling as it is to have a final 1.9 release in anticipation of the
2.0 release, what are the time plans for a 2.0 release?

The reason I'm asking is that my tv box is tied to family use and any tinkering
with it needs to happen after bed time and be bug free in the morning.
Tinkering is helped trmendously if I can pull packages from a repo and,
in case of errors, revert back to the old stack of packages (and old config
files).

To my understanding (and I hope I'm wrong!) the required packages for freevo
2.0
is not yet ironed out, let alone part of any distro. To me, that feels like any
home-usage of 2.0 is at least 6 months away. I could live with that, if I knew
for a fact that 2.0 is around the corner. But, as we're all working for free
here,
we all know that delays are part of any plans. It wouldn't be the first time
an open source project get stuck in 'almost done' state.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that, before closing the door on future
releases
on the 1.9 series, can we have at least one 2.0 release out the door? Just
a basic 2.0 with minimal functionality so we (the users) can get a taste of what
the sw stack looks like for the 2.0 series and we make sure we have a smooth
upgrade plan sorted out. We can also start the process of lobbying our distros
to take in all the deps required.

Just my 2c.
