I'm not entirely clear actually, but now that I look at the pygtk package for Ubuntu 10.04 (pygtk version 2.17), I see the wakeup fd patch as a separate patch, so it seems likely that stock pygtk 2.17 has this bug. I actually think it should be possible to fix this in kaa though, using the same method. I'll try building pygtk 2.17 from source and see if I can reproduce. Please don't forget to reply-to-all.
