Yes and no. The current design allows to add a new player. The
VideoItem always chooses mplayer, because there is only a mplayer.py
inside Freevo. But if someone would write xine.py or ogle.py, we would
apply a patch. It would be possible to use Ogle/Xine for DVD and
mplayer else.

Yes, and xine has DVD navigation, too. But most developer have a G400
and use Framebuffer output. So far, Ogle only supports X and I failed
to get Xine running on a framebuffer.
