I am trying out freevo after using mythtv. The main reason for me to
switch to freevo would be that the files are more standard, mythtv uses
modified nupplevideo format.

The problem I have run into is that to play my old mythtv files mplayer
must be patched. I can't get any version I compile to work with freevo.
when I take a mplayer executable I have made and put it in
/runtime/apps/mplayer/ freevo will just go black when I try to watch TV
or play any file. I swap the original back and everything is fine. my
executables work fine outside freevo.

What am I doing wrong? I'm running Debian Woody.

anyone who as recompiled their MPlayer have any suggestions or willing
to compile one for me?

here is the part of MPlayer's configuration script that tells what's
enabled.
