This is a *really* nice way to do it too.  Damien -- just check out the 
local_conf.py in your freevo directory.  There are comments pertaining to 
how you remove a plugin.  (You may have to look in freevo_conf.py for the 
"how-to" I don't recall.  But be sure to actually put the plugin.remove 
command in the local_conf.py file -- as that is the correct way to do it. 
It also makes upgrading easier if you stick to changes in the 
local_conf.py file)
