I am looking into building a freevo system, and have got to the stage of selecting hardware.
I'm in the U.K. which means that DVB would be a real bonus as it would add umpteen channels to the normal 5 analogue terrestrial we get.
So, looking aroung the obvious choice is something like the Hauppauge Win-TV Nova-T, this is a simple digital terrestrial card with no hardware decoding onboard.
Now, firstly would I be correct in assuming it (or it's driver) must have Video4Linux support (or be supported by V4L)?
There appear to be two drivers that I could use, the first (available from http://www.linux.tv/) explicitly supports this card, but there is no mention of V4L support.
The second one I've found (http://www.metzlerbros.org/dvb/index.html) doesn't have much documentation with it, so I can't tell whether is supports this card, although there is a mention of V4L support.
Has anyone got any advice / experience along this road?
Thanks Kevin
