I looked for this a long time ago. All I found was a patch for an old version 
of XFree86. I didn't bother.

You may notice, however, that if freevo isn't fullscreen, it won't grab the 
mouse/keyboard. I left freevo running all the time and controlled it with a 
remote. The same goes for mplayer. It's easier to just disable -fs and -vm in 
mplayer and use '-geometry 0:0 -x 800 -y 600' instead. You'll save yourself a 
ton of memory, too.
