Hello, I've been getting the same thing also, with
Freevo thus refusing to start.  If you look in the
following directory you'll see the culprit.  Deleting
freevo-main.pid does the trick.

/var/run:
-rw-r--r--    1 root     root            4 Jul  4
16:45 freevo-record_daemon.py.pid
-rw-r--r--    1 root     root            4 Jul  4
16:45 freevo-main.pid
