This release (1.3.4) has a few bugfixes. The following packages are required for a normal RPM installation: o freevo o freevo-runtime (version 8) o freevo-apps
NOTICE: Mplayer and Xine are not included in the freevo-apps package. You need one of them for audio/video playback. You have to download it from the relevant websites listed in the freevo webpage. Alternatively, a good source of the RPMs for Redhat distributions is http://www.freshrpms.net It is always advisable to remove any prior version of freevo before installing a new release (e.g., rpm -e freevo freevo-runtime freevo-apps). Upgrading over an existing release may not cleanup old files properly. Remember to backup your /etc/freevo/local_conf.py if you've made important changes to the file. RPM packages are preconfigured for 800x600, x11, us-cable, ntsc and expect mplayer to be available at /usr/bin/mplayer. In addition, python 2.x (installed by the distribution in /usr/bin/) is needed to perform post-install compilation of the freevo python libraries due to some issues with the python executable supplied in freevo-runtime.
