Hmm, I hope I'm not being thick.

I edited the Makefile and changed:

python_compile: runapp ./runapp python
src/setup_freevo.py --compile=$(OPTIMIZE),$(PREFIX)

TO:

python_compile: runapp ./runapp python src/setup_freevo.py --compile=1

I get the same results.
