I have had problems with getting sound out of my tv card (bt878, external
cable to mic on soundcard).
I could go to a channel, and hear abolutely nothing, until I ran a mixer
program (Kmix, aumix,..) and forced "mic" up from zero.
When I exited the channel and entered another one, the sound was off again,
etc.
SOlution; Replacing
plugin.activate('mixer')
with
plugin.activate('ossmixer')
I have no idea why, but now _EVERYTHING_ works cvs-1.4.x
