I'm struggling with the use of keyboard keys when using freevo with mplayer.
While using the freevo menu, playing audio, images, etc., the keyboard uses the freevo keybindings as I would expect. When I watch videos or movies using mplayer, I need to use the mplayer keyboard mappings. I am under the impression that mplayer would use the keyboard mappings from freevo, since freevo sends the commands to mplayer since it's operating as a slave to freevo. This is causing me problems because I'm using an RF remote, not an LIRC device. I need to issue commands from the remote using the a2x program which sends keyboard strokes to the current X application. My keyboard strokes appear to be sent to the mplayer application (which consumes the entire screen) instead of freevo. My problem is caused by the fact I cannot determine at the unix level if freevo is using mplayer for video, images, or audio. When watching videos, I need to use the mplayer keydefs, otherwise the freevo keydefs (audio and images). Does this make sense to anyone? Is there anyway I can determine at the unix shell level if mplayer is being used for videos vs audio?
