It was decided (on the devel list) that the standalone version
of freevo would be .tgz based only, because the runtime has to be
installed in a freevo subdirectory, and the freevo-1.4*rpm is
installed to the /usr/lib/python2.2/site-packages hierarchy.

freevo-runtime-8.01 won't work with 1.4 due to some changes
in the directory structure layout of the runtime package and
also some new executables (I believe runapp is one of them) to it.

If you're familiar with building RPM packages, the runtime spec
file is available from CVS under contrib/rpm. You can try to build
the runtime RPM package that way. However, I don't plan to maintain
the runtime spec file post 1.4 unless there's a change in the file
release policy.
