The dvdinfo.py that was posted to this list last week is a 'dirty' hack. The best thing you can do is _not_ use the runtime and install all required dependencies.

That's what I'm doing now and it works perfectly.

As for seeing VIDEO_TS I think your dvdrom gets mounted, perhaps you have an automounter running ?
For dvd playback, a dvd should not be mounted.
The menu should look like
Play title 1
Play title 2
...

I've upgraded to 1.4, using the runtime. I just installed a
DVD reader into my machine. At first, I found that freevo
crashed during startup when a DVD was installed in the drive.
I noticed instructions on the mailing list with a replacement
for dvdinfo.py which uses mplayer to extract the play titles.
I followed the instructions.

My question really is what should I expect to see in the
freevo menu when I have a DVD with multiple titles? The DVD
I'm testing with has 7 titles, but the only thing I see in the
freevo MOVIES menu is "video_ts". What should I expect? Should I expect to see a submenu with the ability to select
one of the 7 titles?

Other points:

1) The suggested replacement for dvdinfo.py uses the mplayer
dvd://1000 command, however, my version of mplayer requires
the title be between 0-99. Hence, I needed to modify this to
dvd://99. This however didn't change the behavior.

2) I backed out the dvdinfo.py change to the original, and the
original crash problem disappeared. However, I still only
have access to "video_ts" which is the first title. I don't
know why the crash problem when away. I did install
libdvdread, but continue to use the runtime.
