Hi all,

I suspect this may have been asked before, but for some reason I cannot search the archives as SF, what ever I enter as a search term it comes back with 'not found'......

I have been fighting with lirc and finally got it to work, but not properly with freevo. If I invoke freevo as root the remote works fine, if I start it as a normal user I get the following.....

freevo: could not connect to socket freevo: Permission denied WARNING: Could not initialize PyLirc!

I suspect this is just a simple permissions problem, but I cannot find the file with wrong permissions, any ideas where to look?

Many thanks,

Drew.

Just an update if anyone was wondering...... It was /tmp/.lircd that was my problem. Only root had read/write permissions..... (took ages to find that one)

Drew.
