Hi Magnus!

There are two things:

1. To map the Special Keys on the ATI Remote you can use (if you run Freevo
on X) xmodmap.
e.g. "keycode 176 = Home" will map the menu button below 7 to HOME.

2. If you just want to have diffenrent function on the standard keys. (e.g.
I wanted to have 'c' working like 'ESC') you can change it in event.py!

Cheers

Fred

Subject: [Freevo-users] ATI remote

Hi everyone!

I'm new to freevo, still trying to get everything working right and i ran
into some problems with my ATI Remote Wonder.

I used the drivers on the gatos page, compiled as a module and loaded into
the kernel. Works great for A B C D E and F-keys, the rest are unmapped.
I then read the installationguide for this remote on freevo's "supported
hardware" page and it tells me to use "lirc" witch has its own "only
availible from CVS"-driver for this remote.

Then i see the "update"-note that says that the gatos "ati_remote.c" driver
that i'm already using should work too...

so, how do i get the keys woking like i want them to without lirc? :)

Many thanks in advance,
                                Magnus
