Hey hey!

Im new to this whole thing, but love the idea of a Media Center, and hate the idea of
paying $1300 for a Windblows machine. So, considering the obvious, have decided to
build a machine using Linux. I looked at both MythTV and Freevo, and Freevo looks like
its soooo much easier to install, and has this huge user base behind it. Anywho, on to
business.

So im building my machine (well virtually until the stores open in the morning), and
came across a question. I know that the Capture card required is "Any Video4Linux1/2
compatible board", but what exactly does this mean. I know this kind of sounds
noobish, but hey, I am new to Linux (although I run a G5 on OS X, so I have some know
how).

What is Video4Linux1/2, and how can I tell which cards do/dont have it. Ive been
looking at the cards from NewEgg (thats my default place for parts), and so far have
no idea which do and dont have it.

Obviously, any help is appreciated.

Thanks alot guys (and gals, if there are any),
Jason
