I've seen scattered documentation, but nothing that completely discusses it.
I picked up a WinTV PVR 350 from Hauppauge and have been trying to get Freevo to accept the TV-out aspect of the card. The good news is I can configure X to display on the TV and as a result I can get the navigation menus and such, but playing videos or TV I get a black screen. After digging around I See it is trying to use mplayer (even after I've unconfigured it from my freevo configuration and unloaded tv.mplayer!) and so I assume there must be some magic told to mplayer to display to the correct framebuffer. Anyone have any resources on this topic? I know the card words because I can set up the framebuffer via ivtvfbctl to allow for /dev/video16 to work, and I Can dd if=.. if=/dev/video16 bs=64k. - Ben ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by: IBM Linux Tutorials Free Linux tutorial presented by Daniel Robbins, President and CEO of GenToo technologies.
