Nothing relies on that format, its ok to change it, in fact there is a config variable to do so. :)

Change TV_RECORDFILE_MASK in your local_conf.py, it defaults to '%%m-%%d %%H:%%M %(progname)s - %(title)s', you may remove the ':' or reformat it how you wish. The %% variables need to be valid for strftime.
