I too have had this on a Fedora Core 1 distribution (running 2.6.3).  I
don't think it has anything to do with real time clocks though, seems to
be a problem with shared libraries (possibly compiled with one version
of gcc, and incompatible with others compiled with a different version?)
Some suggestions include running ldconfig again, but I haven't got
around it.

If anyone finds a solution, I too would be very interested in hearing
what's wrong.

I got exactly the same error on the weekend. It (obviously)
has something to do with the real time clock. I've tried
the new enhanced as well as the genereic real time clock,
but nothing works. I would love to get this working as it
is my only stumbling block to using my new tv card.
