I have the same dvd  and the same problem.
From /var/log/messages:

and the third or fourth time I inserted the disc (each time removing mmpython disc cache), it just worked.

mplayer also ALLWAYS works fine, just like lsdvd.
Me too I'll compare the code and see if I can find something

As a quick solution and also for runtime users I made something which
is bad for the original mmpython design: I wrote a lsdvd wrapper for
mmpython. If you have problems with some discs, install lsdvd and get
mmpython from cvs.


Are you sure this fixes it ? Because I am using mmpython cvs since yesterday because I wanted the lsdvd output.
The problem is freevo's d folder keeps saying 'No Disc' and I cannot enter the folder . (Yes, I cleared the cache..)
