AFAIK, there is not much work done yet on the integration of DVB in
Freevo. As soon as I have time (no idea when :( ) I plan to work on
this. One part of your problem can be solved by using a
$HOME/.tzap/channels.conf or $HOME/.mplayer/channels.conf file
(respectively used by tzap and mplayer) that allows to give just the
channel's name for tuning the DVB card.

BTW, does someone knows how to watch the subtitles (when they are in a
separate stream)? I found code for subtitles (subpicture) decoders, but
integrating them into mplayer is a real pain in the ass :(
