tzap, at least from CVS, has a "-t" switch which does this. I have
a small script which converts the channel ID from what WebVCR+
uses to what's in channels.conf and then runs:

$TZAP -c $CHANNELS -t $2 -o - "$station" | $TS2PS 0 0 > "$3"

where $2 is the time to record in seconds and $3 is the output filename.

I know there are people who use it, but I find it easier to schedule
recordings with a web interface. Text is clearer, and the interface
is easier to work with.

Likewise. But I do have other computers in the house, so I just use
WebVCR+'s interface to schedule recordings. Freevo makes a fine front-end
for selecting stuff to play, though.

It'd be nice to get it all working with Freevo some day, I just haven't
found much motivation to do the extra work as what I have now does the job.
I'm sure it would be different if I wanted to use Freevo to watch "live"
TV, but I have a DVB-T set-top box for that.
