You should just be able to do:
   mount -o loop /path/to/my/isofile.iso /mnt/mountpoint

where /mnt/mountpoint is a directory you've created - you can name it
anything you want.

It would be neat to have a .fxd specify to auto-mount the image, then you
"enter it" as if it were a normal directory, and unmount it when you're
done and exit the directory.
