I'm getting ready to start a project with, I expect,
Freevo at it's core, using an Xbox/Linux combination
to access a few hundred CDs of lossless audio on a
fileserver. Before I get really into it, however, I
want to know whether or not playback of continuous
music is possible on Freevo - that is, I have a lot of
continuously mixed DJ-style music, broken into tracks,
and stored as FLAC files on my server. If I play back
an entire album, is there ANY gap inbetween the
normally seamless audio? I know that there's an issue
with the XboxMediaPlayer (also based on MPlayer) where
MPlayer is stopped and started again at the end of
each track, and that 'reset' causes a gap in the
audio.
This is the last critical point that I need resolved
before taking the plunge - can anyone answer this for
me?
Thanks,
C
