I just found out some details regarding DMA audio from a SAA7134 card.
(archived on the video4linux list on redhat.com)
You can enable DMA audio using option oss=1, it'll setup /dev/dspX (where
X is the next available device, e.g., /dev/dsp1 if your sound card is on
/dev/dsp), and capture from that device independently of the sound card
settings. I don't have a saa7134 myself, so I can't test (mine's a
saa7130).

Not at this moment. It is a bug IMHO but not easy to fix as it needs some
device locking logic between the record server and tv viewing program.
