I was talking to the EFF people at the linux expo and they were saying if you want to get a HD tv tuner card you should do it now because the FCC is going to start requiring some DRM junk in all the new decoders. Anyway, they have a deal with the pcHDTV people (http://www.pchdtv.com) for $10 off of their $200 card. Has anyone bought one of these? Are they worth it? They say they come with the driver source code and V4L drivers, which sounds great after fiddeling around with the $20 card I have now for about a year with only mediocore results... One the other hand, the price seems a little steep.
Yes - I have one, it's well worth the money. All the drivers are open, and there is good support via the forums they host.
-D -- On a long enough timeline, the survival rate for everyone drops to zero.
