I have tried getting the gphoto plugin to work several times. I think there was a change in the libgphoto API recently that the swig code does not account for since it was written against a previous version of the API. Rob Shortt is the last person I know to get this to work but I believe it has stopped working for him as well. I have been looking into a wrapper around the gphoto command line program but haven't had much time for it lately.
