I am interested what video-formats freevo will encode DVDs to... I understand a very good combination is to use OGG-vorbis audio, at something like 96kbps (or 160kbps for high quality), and 'mencoder' libavcodec xvid/divx whatnot (mpeg4-based), wrapped up into a OGM file.
I know that encoding to an avi with the same video codec is possible, but this typically is done with nasty mp3 constant-bitrate which typically means less space for the video (??). I would like to know what types of encoding work in recent versions of freevo, and, also, what types of video can be played now ? Maybe just everything mplayer plays? or xine-based?? Any helpful comments appreciated ;-). -enyc <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by BEA Weblogic Workshop FREE Java Enterprise J2EE developer tools!
