I second the idea of allowing configuration over the web. You'd need different levels of access, however. An admin access level and a normal user level. That way, my roommate or girlfriend can't destroy the box.
Right now I can't think of anything else (beyond what has been suggested). It's a damn good product. But I'll emphasize making it easier to record live TV. Gotta account for the times when you're scanning the channel guide and think, "Holy crap! Gotta record that!" when the show in question is currently playing. Thanks for the hard work!
