Hi Mick,

I used the DViCO FusionHDTV DVB-T card which I purchased from Harris
Tech <http://www.ht.com.au>. I am very impressed with the card so far,
but I certainly havent put it through its paces completely yet. I
havent tested the video-in functionality yet, but this is also a very
important reason for choosing this card. The picture quality and
reception is excellent, and certainly good enough reason to choose HDTV
over standard PVR if you dont get good television reception in your
area. Otherwise HDTV in Australia is fairly underutilised by our
broadcasters.

I did not use the remote or receiver that came with the card in my first
freevo box (I used an IRMan instead as it was already setup). I am
currently building another freevo box that will use the USB remote that
came with the DVB-T.

As far as setting it up in Linux goes, it really is quite simple, as
someone else has already done the hard work for us. I used a 2.6.7
kernel on a Debian unstable install and the drivers that can be found
here; <http://www.itee.uq.edu.au/~chrisp/DVICO-Linux/>

Tuning the card is quite different to the old standard PVR's. A google
on dvb and scan should give you most of the information you need.

For those who are interested, my next project will be to get FoxTel (pay
satellite broadcast) working through Freevo as well. I will start
looking into this once I am completely happy with HDTV and associated
functions.
