Hmm, forget what I said in my previous post... :(
Irman is working correctly, Lirc daemon starts up without any problem.
Then I launch Freevo (which is version 1.5.1 btw.) and the process LIRCD
mysteriously disappears again from my process list. For your information,
I'm running Freevo on Fedora Core 2.
Can anyone ppoint me in a (useful) direction? (I'm getting a bit tense now... ;)
Cheers,
Robert

Hi again,
With regard to my previous post, something seems to be wrong with either my Irman or my
com port, so I'll have to dive into that to fix the problem (assuming that this is the culprit).
Another frustrating weekend I guess...
Did anyone ever used an Irman on Mac OsX by the way? I noticed you can communicate
with a LIRC daemon over the network and it would be great if I could set up another irman
on the Mac in my bedroom so I can (remote) control Freevo from there.
Anyone have experience with this? What would be a suitable approach for this?
Cheers,
Robert

Hi all,
It's one of those days (again)... My Lirc has stopped working.
As soon as I run Freevo, the process lircd disappears from my process
list. Any ideas on what this could be?Freevo output does not complain
about anything (not even pylirc, so this to me suggests that the lirc
daemon is killed after pylirc is initialised). Once I restart Freevo again,
it obviously complains that pylirc could not be initialised (as lircd is not
running anymore).
The only change on my system is that I installed VLC and its dependencies
last week. I re-installed lirc, but that did not solve my problem...
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
